Young Math/Science Workshops
The Young Math/Science Workshops offer students the opportunity to further develop higher level thinking skills by doing hands-on activities that integrate math and science. To promote critical thinking, students are encouraged to use a variety of problem solving strategies. These include:
In previous years, students have learned through various projects such as constructing rockets to study gravity and force, building and racing model cars to study friction and speed, reconstructing a miniature volcano, and participating in a mock Olympics using the metric system. We have had guest speakers including a rocket scientist and a water quality expert. |
